Pa. man who set fire, bilked contractors gets jail
Allentown, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man who set a fire that damaged three houses, then ransomed contractors pretending to own homes has been sentenced to prison.
The Morning Call of Allentown reports 19-year-old Jonathan Figueroa was sentenced Monday to three to 10 years in prison. Figueroa pleaded guilty in April to charges including arson and forgery in the conspiracy to defraud the construction companies.
Prosecutors say Figueroa set fire to the house of a friend Allentown in November and the damage caused to the smoke of fire of two adjacent properties.
Figueroa then told two entrepreneurs, he would make repairs on homes, but needed money advanced to him out of deals with repairs, he had already done.
Figueroa told the court during his sentencing, he would change his life.
