Trial Date Set For Wrongful Death Suit Against Phil Spector ...
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A trial date has been set for a lawsuit that accuses music producer Phil Spector of wrongful death in the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson.
The lawsuit filed by Clarkson’s family asks for unspecified damages.
The trial is set to start Jan. 9 in Pasadena Superior Court.
Spector was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of actress Lana Clarkson in a second trial in 2009.
The 71- is serving a 19 years to life sentence in the 2003 murder.
Spector continues to maintain his innocence in Clarkson’s death.
Clarkson was shot to death inside Spector’s Alhambra mansion.
Defense attorneys had claimed the actress shot herself with Spector’s gun because she was suicidal.
Spector gained fame decades ago for what became known as the “Wall of Sound” recording technique that changed rock music.
Clarkson was most famous as the star of Roger Corman’s 1985 cult film classic “Barbarian Queen.”
She was 40 when she died.
